Meet the GRR Course Directors

Whitney Bryant, MD, MPH, Med, CTropMed
Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Bryant is a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati. She completed her MPH and MD at Columbia, her Emergency Medicine residency at NYU-Bellevue Hospital, and her Master's in Medical Education here at Cincinnati Children's. She co-directs the departmental Section on Global Health, runs the third year medical student Emergency Medicine clerkship, and the Intern Report Program for the residency, where she focuses on helping build confidence, knowledge, and skills among the interns as they begin their residency. She has worked as an emergency physician in Ghana, Guatemala, and Guyana.

 
Jonathan Chuko, MD

University of Cincinnati Emergency Medicine Residency - Class of 2023

Dr. Chuko is a fourth-year emergency medicine resident at the University of Cincinnati. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he went to the University of Michigan for his undergraduate studies and completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago. He is passionate about the intersection of operations/administration and medical education and plans on pursuing an administration fellowship and MBA after residency.  Outside of the hospital, you will find him trying local food spots and grappling at his jiu jitsu gym.

 
Laura Frankenfeld, MD 

Laura Frankenfeld, MD
University of Cincinnati Emergency Medicine Residency - Class of 2023

Dr. Frankenfeld is a fourth year emergency medicine resident at the University of Cincinnati.  She is a native Cincinnatian and graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, having taken the Getting Ready for Residency course in 2019.  Dr. frankenfeld’s interests in emergency medicine include ultrasound and airway management, with plans to practice community emergency medicine in the Cincinnati area after graduating residency. Outside of medicine, Dr. Frankenfeld enjoys running, hiking, crafting, and spending as much time as possible with her two rough collies .

Anita Goel, MD
Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Goel is a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati. She is a Cincinnati native, and attended undergrad, medical school, and residency all in Cincinnati. Her academic interests include education of medical students and early resident training. She also works with the Medical Student Scholars program with the College of Medicine to help develop medical student skills in a more longitudinal fashion. Outside of medicine she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her husband and her two young children.

 
Olivia Urbanowicz, MD 

Olivia Urbanowicz, MD
Emergency Medicine Medical Education Fellow

Dr. Urbanowicz is a first year fellow in Medical Education through the Department of Emergency medicine. Originally from Denver, Colorado, she obtained her MD at the University of Arkansas and just recently graduated residency from the UC Department of Emergency Medicine in 2022 where she was a Chief Resident. Her particular interests lie in the successful transition from medical school to internship, as well as transitions across the breadth of one’s medical career. Mentorship and clinical reasoning are her passions and she is very excited to be joining the GRR team. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time exploring the arts and new restaurants with her husband as well as playing with her rambunctious Maine Coon, Ozzy.
