College of Medicine Research Rising Star Award
Nominations will be accepted for a College of Medicine full time Instructor or Assistant Professor who demonstrates outstanding commitment to health-related research. Nominations can come from fellow faculty, Chairs, or Division Directors. The nomination package must include a detailed letter from a Chair or Division Director stating why the faculty member deserves to be recognized and the nominee’s CV. Self-nominations will not be accepted. The successful nominee will be in the top tier of career benchmarks among peers. When making a nomination, please consider the following:
- Publication record and impact of the publications
- Extramural funding record if applicable
- Recognition as an expert in his or her research area, as evidenced by invited presentations at national or international meetings or venues, recognition by and service with sponsors or professional societies, or other means of recognition
- Additional attributes that set the nominee above his or her peer group
The cover letter and CV should be submitted as one PDF document to Brieanne Sheehan at no later than 5:00pm Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Please take the time to highlight relevant content in the CV. Unfortunately, faculty at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are not eligible.
The award recipient will receive an honorarium of $1500 and college wide recognition. Recipients of College of Medicine Office of Research awards are asked to assist the Office when requested (i.e. providing grant reviews, attending College of Medicine events, etc.) Previous Research Rising Star awardees are not eligible to apply.
Questions should be sent to Brieanne Sheehan.
