Assistant ProfessorDr. Timme received his PhD in Physics from Indiana University in 2015 under the mentorship of Dr. John Beggs. He then completed his postdoctoral training in neuroscience with Dr. Christopher Lapish at Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis and the Indiana University School of Medicine. He was promoted to Assistant Research Professor in 2021. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Systems Physiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Research in his laboratory focuses on the neural computations underlying decision-making in rodents, especially in the context of addiction.
Research AssistantAshley Walters received her B.S. in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 2021. Following her graduation, she spent several years working as a research technician at The Ohio State University before returning to Cincinnati to join the Timme Lab. Broadly, she is interested in the neural circuitry of reward, particularly in the context of psychiatric disease and chronic illness. In her free time, she enjoys singing, lifting weights, and tending to the whims of her three rambunctious dogs.
Research AssistantAlexis Lam received her B.S. in Neuroscience with a specialization in Systems/Behavior from the Ohio State University in 2023. She now is applying her knowledge of behavioral analysis and neuronal electrophysiology to study alcohol use disorder in Dr.Timme’s lab. Alexis plans on pursuing an M.D. and further specializing in sleep and addiction medicine.
