Program SummaryThe Environmental and Industrial Hygiene division in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Services offers MS degree in various concentrations. These academic programs are designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions with industry, labor organizations or government, or to enhance and established career. As graduates advance to roles of substantial responsibility they are required to understand the conduct of research and interpretation of data: therefore, our MS program includes a research thesis.
These programs are components of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health-supported Education and Research Center (ERC) at the University of Cincinnati. The MS program in Industrial Hygiene is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Industrial Hygiene.
To graduate from the MS degree programs, an acceptable Master’s thesis demonstrating critical judgment is required. Upon acceptance of a research proposal by the degrees committee, the thesis is performed under the guidance of the appointed committee. Students receiving financial assistance must maintain satisfactory progress towards the degree.
