Certificate Programs

Please note: the Certificate Programs offered by the Environmental & Industrial Hygiene division require completion of the curriculum of the PhD or MS Environmental & Industrial Hygiene degree programs.

Certificate in Biological Monitoring

Students are equipped to conduct research and evaluate data. This certificate program also solidifies the transferable skills needed so that our graduates are able increasingly take on program responsibilities. Students with a BIOM concentration are required to complete a thesis in the area of biological monitoring and/or molecular epidemiology. For detailed information please contact Dr. John Reichard.

Certificate in Hazardous Substances

Students desiring more education in the occupational and environmental aspects of hazardous material may apply for this Certificate Program that builds on Industrial Hygiene. Additional requirements include course work in biomonitoring and risk assessment, completion of a 40-hour program for hazardous waste site workers (see 29CRF1910.120), and the thesis topic must be relevant to hazardous materials.

More specialty certificate programs such as Climate Health, Emergency Preparedness, etc. are coming
