Stable Wellness: An Evening of Wellness in Nature at Saddle Lake Equestrian Center

Spend an evening engaging in practices to build long-lasting wellness for your mind and body. Spend time with nature and the horses at the Saddlelake Equestrian Center and find your inner peace through a myriad of experiential sessions hosted by the Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati.

Event Details

The evening will include three wellness sessions (detailed below) in addition to a healthy dinner.

Wellness Sessions
  • Release and Restore Labyrinth: Calm your mind as you release stress, pressure, and tension with each step. Reflect upon this journey and learn more about your inner mind. Instructor: Barbara Walker, PhD.
  • Tai Chi in Nature: Breathe through each movement as you ground your mind and body in the nature that surrounds you. Instructor: Derek Johnson, L.Ac, MSOM, DMQ, Dipl. Ac
  • Equestrian Wellness and Understanding: Learn about the benefits of horseback riding for the body and mind, what it means to be an equestrian, and how to interact with horses. Instructor: Missy Jo Hollingsworth. Optional Experience during this session: Experience connection with a horse firsthand as you are guided through a grooming practice by a Master Equestrian, Missy Jo Hollingsworth.
Directions
  • From Cincinnati: Take I-71 S to I-471 S to Kentucky. Take exit 1B to merger onto I-275 W toward Airport. Take exit 77 for KY-9/AA Hwy toward Wilder. Turn right on AA.  Go aprox 8 miles. Take the KY-547/Riley Rd exit. Turn right at stop sign (KY-547/Riley Rd). Turn right with in 1000 feet back onto AA Ramp also Ky 9.  Drive half way thru ramp and exit left on to Nelson Rd.  Drive .5 miles and Turn right on gravel drive just following horse fence.  Drive past home to stables.   2369 Nelson Road Camp Springs, Kentucky 41059.
  • From Lexington/Louisville: Take 71/75 North to 275 East.  Take exit for Ky9/AA Hwy in Wilder.   Go aprox 8 miles. Exit right on the KY-547/Riley Rd exit. Turn right at stop sign (KY-547/Riley Rd). Turn right with in 1000 feet back onto AA Ramp also Ky 9.  Drive half way thru ramp and exit left on to Nelson Rd.  Drive .5 miles and Turn right on gravel drive just following horse fence.  Drive past home to stables.   2369 Nelson Road Camp Springs, Kentucky 41059.
