Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the University of Cincinnati, Department of Radiology!

As you explore our website, I hope you gain a sense of the many exciting aspects of Radiology. There have been tremendous changes in Radiology throughout my career. The explosive growth in advanced imaging technologies, artificial intelligence, and image-guided interventions and therapies has placed Radiology at the center of patient care. Radiologists play an integral role in healthcare, working with our clinical colleagues to diagnose, treat, and care for our patients.

Our faculty and staff are committed to excellence and providing outstanding patient-centered care, teaching residents and fellows, mentoring our future leaders, and supporting innovative research.

The Department of Radiology has 70 clinical and research faculty, with highly trained subspecialists covering all aspects of diagnostic, interventional, and nuclear medicine radiology. We perform approximately 450,000 examinations per year, serving patients at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, West Chester Hospital, the Daniel Drake Center, as well as eight freestanding outpatient imaging centers.

Radiology education remains a priority for our department, as exemplified by our outstanding Radiology residency program and subspecialty fellowships. We also work closely with the College of Medicine to introduce diagnostic imaging into medical student and allied health student education.

Our research efforts are driven by a purpose of “transforming lives through imaging research.” Our portfolio is diverse, consisting of multiple interdisciplinary, local and nationally funded research trials.

I am honored to have been associated with UC Radiology for over 30 years, and I am excited about the many initiatives and accomplishments of our department. But I am most proud of our people- our faculty, our trainees, and our staff. They are an incredibly talented, caring, and dedicated group of professionals committed to providing our patients with the best in imaging care.
