You will work in collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning, discovery, and continuous improvement. You will spend time on the general medicine inpatient wards, consulting services, subspecialty clinics, and in the
intensive care unit at the VA.
Unique learning opportunities in the Medicine department at the VA include point of care ultrasonography with daily bedside rounds facilitated by trained providers, a robust procedural and code simulation lab,
multidisciplinary bedside and discharge rounds, quality improvement projects, research opportunities with access to the largest patient care database in the world, and a committed group of academic medicine attendings.
Additionally the Cincinnati
VAMC has specialized services catered to patient needs such as hospital-in-home, home based primary care, an on-site skilled nursing facility, and a strong palliative
care and geriatrics program.
The Cincinnati VAMC is also the headquarters for the national Tele-ICU program. Combined
these services form the foundation for a medical center that strives to provide the best possible care to veterans while maintaining the flexibility to evolve to the updated and changing landscapes of the healthcare environment.
