The University of Cincinnati’s (UC) public health degree program pulls expertise from our renowned faculty representing a range of public health and social science colleges to provide innovative curricula that focus on key aspects of preventing
disease, prolonging life and promoting health.
This unique interdisciplinary program, offering both major and minor tracks of study, offers a versatile education that examines emerging issues in public health, the social and behavioral aspects of preventing disease, environmental health concepts, the changing U.S. health care system, and the monitoring of diseases in the community. Students can begin their studies at one of our regional colleges and transition into the four-year program track to complete their degree.

UC’s public health program allows you to select from a diverse offering of classes, either online or in the classroom, from multiple colleges. Expert faculty from the College of Medicine, College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, College of Allied Health Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Design Architecture, Art and Planning create a diverse offering of electives to provide a multi-disciplinary curriculum. The public health program includes two and four-year tracks of study. UC has many post-graduate health-related programs to customize a personal academic plan to meet your goals.

Curriculum and Core Areas of Study:
A degree major in public health provides students an understanding of the principles of public health as well as emerging issues in public health that affect our global society. This program of study integrates key aspects of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through people, organizations, and community. Areas of concentrated study include health promotion and education, prevention science and urban health. Students can select from a pool of more than 50 courses, with the assistance of an academic advisor, to create a personalized learning plan that includes hands-on experiences.
