June 2023: New summer lab member!
Chiara Girardi, a Senior from University of Trento, Italy, has been selected for the 2023 UC International Global Research Experience Program. She will be receiving both a stipend and housing for her 8 weeks of research effort during the summer in the K lab. The K lab also received $1,000 to cover incurred research expenditures. Congrats Chiara!

Irene has received 2nd place in the 4th Annual Medical Sciences Poster Fair for her presentation "Role of Inter-Alpha-Trypsin Inhibitor Heavy Chain H3 (ITIH3) in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)." Congrats Irene!

Karthick was invited to give his first in-person short-talk since the pandemic at the 2023 joint Keystone meeting 'Adipose Tissue: Energizing the Good Fat' running jointly with 'Bioenergetics in Health and Disease' in Keystone, Colorado. Karthick is also awarded the Keystone Symposia Early Career Investigator Travel Award ($1200).
