Kevin Haworth awarded NIH K25 Mentored Quantitative Research Development Award: Kevin Haworth, PhD, has received a four year NIH K25 Mentored Quantitative Research Development Award. He completed a CCTST KL2 Research Scholar Career Development Award last year.

Christy Holland elected a fellow of the AIMBE: Christy K. Holland, Ph.D., will be inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows.

Vincent Huang wins first place in the UC SURF poster competition: Vincent Huang’s summer research on the safety of a novel ultrasound therapy that could be potentially used in heart attack patients won first place during the 2016 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Capstone Poster Sessions.

Research Update: Histotripsy Standards and Lysis of Deep Vein Thrombi: With the eventual goal to use focused ultrasound to dissolve chronic deep vein blood thrombi, Kenneth B. Bader, PhD, and his colleagues at the University of Cincinnati recently completed a study to develop standards to regulate micro bubble cloud formation during histotripsy pulses.

Christy Holland awarded UC College of Medicine Cross Cutting Research Award: The Cross Cutting Award is given to recipients who have demonstrated a level of performance that well exceeds normal expectations and places them in the top tier of their College of Medicine peers.

Christy Holland voted President-elect of the Acoustical Society of America: The Acoustical Society of America elected Christy Holland as the society's President for the 2015-2016 academic year, to serve as President-elect for 2014-2015.

Kenneth Bader receives an External Award from the Focused Ultrasound Foundation to investigate histotripsy: The Focused Ultrasound Foundation awarded Kenneth Bader a grant to study histotripsy safety in collaboration with the FDA.

May 2013

Study Finds Plasmin - Delivered Through a Bubble - More Effective Than tPA in Busting Clots: Madhuvathi Kandadai, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in the UC Department of Emergency Medicine, presented the abstract, "Plasmin loaded echogenic liposomes: A Novel Thrombolytic," at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine annual meeting May 14-18 in Atlanta.

Christy Holland completes WILD Program: Christy Holland is recognized for completing the 2012-3 Women's Leadership Development (WILD) Program, a competitive program to help prepare UC women for higher level positions here at UC and elsewhere in higher education.

Christy Holland presented with AIUM Joseph H. Holmes Basic Science Pioneer Award: Christy K. Holland, PhD, will be honored with the Joseph H. Holmes Basic Science Pioneer Award. This award honors an individual who has significantly contributed to the growth and development of medical ultrasound.

Image-Guided Ultrasound Therapeutics Lab to Present Research: Members of the Image-Guided Ultrasound Therapeutics Labs travel to Kansas City, Missouri to present their research. In all there were 8 presentations made from our group at the 164th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America at Kansas City, Missouri.
