Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology!

As the chair of the Department, I want to welcome you to our website. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is dedicated to our mission of patient care, education, research and community service. It is my hope that this site allows you to get a sense of who we are and all that we do to assist the women and families we are honored and humbled to serve.

The “crown jewels” of our department are the faculty, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers and staff who work tirelessly to serve our patients. I am extremely proud of our providers and support staff, and am confident that you will find them to be accessible and experts in their fields. In addition to our strong Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology, we also have nationally recognized physicians in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Gynecologic Oncology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

A number of our faculty members who are examiners for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology oral certification examinations. Many of our faculty are recognized annually by Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors and many national physician ranking polls.

Education and training for students, residents and fellows is a core daily activity of the department. The department provides medical education in obstetrics and gynecology to all UC medical students. Through our accredited four-year OB/GYN residency training program and three subspecialty fellowship programs, the department trains 28 residents (seven in each year) and 10 subspecialty fellows each year. The quality of our educational programs is exceptional and I invite you to explore them in detail.

We are committed to providing state-of-the-art care for women. We strive to be compassionate and embrace the diversity of the population that we are lucky to serve every day.

Though the department has a strong clinical research focus, we collaborate with other departments and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for basic science research opportunities for our fellows and residents.
