Research Interests

Broadly, my research is focused on understanding the biological basis for disparity in stroke, cognitive impairment and dementia. Specifically, my research has and is examining the role of the sickle cell mutation and other genetic variants on the incidence and prevalence of cerebal macro and microvascular pathologies in individuals of African ancestry.
