Black Biomedical Graduates (BBG at CoM)

Mission Statement

We are the Black Biomedical Graduates at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (BBG). Our organization exists to provide for the needs of ALL Black biomedical graduate students attending the University of Cincinnati. Specifically, our goals are to:

  1. Establish a community for Black CoM Biomedical graduate students;
  2. Create a safe and authentic space for students to openly assess their well-being;
  3. Plan events for students at the CoM to engage with Black professionals in various fields to discuss and/or discover potential career opportunities and
  4. Advocate for a larger presence of Black faculty members and increase representation at the COM.

To accomplish this we perform outreach activities to local Cincinnati Public School high schools, host invited speaker-professional development workshops, create peer mentoring sessions, and build community through hosting of social activities, mentoring of black undergraduates, and organizing monthly general body meetings.

You do not have to be in the College of Medicine to join our group. We are open to all Black graduate students in need of a supportive environment in a like-minded community! If you would like to know more about us, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our E-board members listed below.
