Our Chief Resident

We are very fortunate here at Cincinnati Med-Peds that we have a 5th year Chief Resident to support our residents and assist in running our program! Our Med-Peds Chief Resident has completed residency and functions as an attending in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Having finished residency, our Chief spends 100% of their time committed to our program and amazing residents. They also work closely with the Chief Residents in the internal medicine and pediatrics residency programs on scheduling, conferences, and other special events. Our Chief is therefore uniquely positioned to help our residents navigate two programs and multiple hospitals, all the while serving as their advocate, support system, and biggest cheerleader!

Meet Our Chief Resident

Dr. Damari completed her residency in Med-Peds at our home program in June of 2023 and will be serving as our 5th year Med-Peds Chief for 2023-2024! Dr. Damari currently precepts in our Med-Peds Hoxworth Clinic and supervises residents on internal medicine and pediatric inpatient wards at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Cincinnati Children’s hospital. After graduating from Brown University with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Anthropology, Dr. Damari went on to receive an MSc in pathobiology. Prior to attending medical school, she held an AmeriCorps VISTA position at the Arizona Department of Health Services in the Refugee Health Program. As a medical student at UNC Chapel Hill, she demonstrated a continued commitment to addressing health disparities at the patient and population level which resulted with her election to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She has been involved in advocacy and service initiatives to support the health of LGBT, refugee, incarcerated, and low-income patients, and is passionate about improving care for marginalized and underserved communities. During residency Dr. Damari led the launch of a LGBTQ+ Residency Association and received multiple grant awards for work to improve care for vulnerable populations in our very own Med-Peds Clinic. We are very excited to have Dr. Damari as our Chief Resident for this academic year!
