The UC Cancer Center combines the best of the university's research and faculty with UC Health’s excellent clinical programs so innovative, cutting edge research informs multi-disciplinary care. 

UC faculty engages in research across the entire spectrum, starting with basic laboratory research to high-throughput screening for drug targets and first-in-human clinical trials. Patients benefit from this bench-to-bedside approach that sets the UC Cancer Center apart from any other medical provider in the region.

When a patient chooses the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center (UCCC) for their oncology care, they can feel confident in knowing that they will receive the most comprehensive, compassionate, discovery-based medicine available today. Cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up can be very stressful.

The team at the UCCC is very understanding and go out of their way to alleviate stress and worry. The institute's supportive services team includes specialists in the neurologic complications of cancer, fertility preservation, cancer survivorship, integrative medicine, oncology social work, and palliative care.

Research Fund

With nearly 30 primary investigators on faculty, our inter-departmental, disease-based research teams collaborate on basic, translational and clinical research projects. Researchers have access to robust core research facilities, including a preclinical imaging center, comprehensive tissue, and blood bank, high-throughput screening capabilities, proteomics, bioinformatics and more.

Education & Outreach Fund

The UC Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program provides fellows with clinical expertise in patient care as well as hands-on clinical and transitional research, supplemented with structured didactic learning.

The Graduate Program in Cancer and Cell Biology is an interdepartmental graduate program with expertise in many critical areas of modern Cancer and Cell Biology. Faculty selected to join the program are recognized leaders in their fields and provide excellence, dedication, and personal involvement in graduate training. As a consequence, our graduate students excel in research and are highly successful in their scientific careers. 

Other educational activities include regular Grand Rounds, Seminar series, invited speakers, symposia, and other CME courses.

The UCCC community outreach program brings cancer prevention and early detection to the places where people live and work. Through the development of sustainable partnerships, the UCCC Outreach and Education Program is dedicated to helping the community to learn more about what causes cancer and the risk factors involved. The team provides information about risk factors that will help individuals make appropriate lifestyle changes.
