Program Description: Six-week residential summer program for premedical students who have completed at least two years of college. Students receive intensive exposure to the medical school application process and medicine as a career through courses, tours, speakers, seminars, and shadowing. Emphasis is on strengthening critical thinking/problem solving skills, increasing self-awareness, and making each participant a competitive medical school applicant. Applicants must complete application and submit transcripts and two letters of recommendation.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Research and Graduate Education - http://www.med.uc.edu/SURF
Program Description: The SURF RGE program offers exciting research opportunities in laboratories across every department in the College of Medicine, including the Pediatrics Department (Cincinnati Children's Hospital). We have many experienced mentors waiting to introduce you to the world of biomedical research.
Our program typically receives 500 applications for 25 positions. Fellows are selected on a rolling basis. For full consideration, the online application should be submitted prior to February 1, 2010. Official college transcripts are required and must be submitted prior to February 15. Documents postmarked after February 15 will not be considered. Letters of recommendation may be submitted electronically up to February 15, 2010, at which point the electronic system will no longer accept electronic submission of letters of recommendation.
