The Administrative Core is designed to support and promote the research objectives of the program. Among its primary responsibilities are to facilitate the efficient functioning of the research; to serve as an interface between the researchers and the university administration; to maintain records and prepare reports and publications concerning the program and its research; and to coordinate government liaison activities. It is also responsible for overseeing the operation of the other four Core areas (Outreach, Training, Analytical, Biostatistics Cores). Dr. Kathleen Dixon will serve as Principal Investigator. She will exercise direct responsibility for administration of the Program and will oversee the Core, with active participation by the associated committees. Dr. Paul Bishop will serve as Co-Principal Investigator and will be responsible for assisting her in the Core management and filling in for her in her absence. They will be assisted by the Internal and External Advisory Boards. The Administrative Core will provide secretarial, clerical and fiscal assistance to the Projects.
The Administrative Core will be guided by two overarching goals:
[1] To maximize the productivity of the individual research projects
and to foster interactions and collaborations among the projects to address
SBRP research objectives.
[2] To maximize the impact of the research program through an integration
of effort with other departments, centers, and service facilities throughout
the University.
