In his fifth year, and writing up his PhD thesis, Vaibhav is investigating the role of serotonin in mammary physiology and its involvement in breast cancer, in the Horseman lab. Vaibhav will defend his PhD thesis on February 26, 2009. Vaibhav aspires to a career in academia and looks forward to one day running his own lab. Vaibhav's interests include reading, sports, music, traveling, hiking, and sketching.

Arshani has completed her qualifying exams and is in her third year of study. She is working on her thesis research in Dr John Lorenz’s lab, studying the role of endogenous Na-K ATPase ligands in regulating cardiac function. Arshani enjoys music and plays the piano, harmonium, accordion and guitar. She also enjoys painting, nature walks and playing badminton. Her career aspirations are to teach at an undergraduate medical institution and play an active role in health policy planning and implementation.
