The University Hospital
The University Hospital is a 650-bed facility that provides primary, secondary and tertiary medical-surgical care to all persons who require it, regardless of their ability to pay. It includes an active emergency room and Level I Trauma Center, 15 operating rooms, and outpatient clinics for the various medical and surgical subspecialties. The Mary Knight Asbury Eye Clinic is a 5,000 square foot facility located in the Hospital's A Pavilion. This clinic is the principal site where residents perform supervised outpatient evaluations and minor surgery. Major ophthalmic surgery is performed in the OR's of the Holmes Hospital and The University Hospital.
Children's Hospital Medical Center
Children's Hospital is a modern 400-bed facility that provides general pediatric care plus specialty medical, surgical and trauma care to children from birth to age 16 years. The hospital enjoys a strong regional and national reputation for excellence in the treatment of childhood disorders. The Abrahamson Pediatric Eye Institute in the hospital's Pavilion Building is the principal site where residents gain experience in evaluation of children with eye problems.
Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The Cincinnati VA Hospital is a 450-bed facility that provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services to veterans of the US Armed Forces and their dependents. The VA Eye Clinic is located on the first floor of the hospital. Residents see patients in this clinic and perform supervised eye surgery in the VA's ORs.
