Research
There are multiple research opportunities available at the University of Cincinnati, which is considered one of America's top public research institutions.
Active research grants and ongoing clinical trials include studies in radiation oncology, ultrasound diagnosis and therapy, CT and magnetic resonance imaging.
One of the department's most productive research areas is breast imaging.
Under the direction of Mary Mahoney, MD, breast imaging research has grown substantially over the past two years.
The most notable activity is participation in the American College of Radiology Imaging Network, which generated over $200,000 in direct support.
The Biostatistical Consultation Group within the Department of Public Health Sciences provides a full array of biostatistical assistance to the Department of Radiology through the research collaboration established between the departments. The group is comprised of Dr. Jun Ying, PhD – a Research Associate Professor – who is the lead biostatistician of the group and the primary point of contact. Assisting Dr. Ying as data analyst, is Mr. Karthikeyan “Karthik” Meganathan, who is a Research Associate and holds a master’s degree in statistics. Both have considerable experience in clinic research, including controlled trials. The team has specific expertise in the statistical analysis of data associated with imaging.
