UC Radiology MR Imaging Facility
UC Radiology GE Signa HD 3.0T MRI
The UC Radiology GE 3.0T Signa EXCITE 16 Channel High-Definition Whole-Body MR System, located in the University of Cincinnati Medical Sciences Building (MSB), is a shared clinical and research resource. Patients undergoing MRI should come to the UC Physicians Medical Arts Building Imaging Center, where they will be escorted to the UC 3T MRI Imaging Facility.
3.0 T MRI Imaging Suite
UC Radiology’s 3T MRI suite offers advanced, high-definition imaging, conveniently located on the UC Health medical campus.
Superior Technology
The 3T MR is a GE Healthcare High Definition MR imaging system, featuring the highest field strength available for clinical imaging, operating on the latest software platform, and offering advanced imaging options not available at any other MRI facility in the region.
The wide array of imaging options available make this MRI system the absolute best choice for all types of MR imaging, from routine bone and joint imaging to high resolution brain and spine visualization.
The imaging staff is expertly trained to provide the highest quality exams and all exams are interpreted by board certified, fellowship-trained radiologists.
Clinical/Patient Applications
An MRI is an imaging test that uses a magnetic field and radiofrequency waves to produce high-resolution images of the human body without using radiation. The GE 3.0T Signa System utilizes advanced technology that produces higher resolution imaging in the body, brain, spine, and blood vessels; much more so, than the traditional high-field MRI systems.
This MRI system has both advanced neurologic imaging and body imaging applications, as well as core pulse sequences for broad clinical applications. Some of the advanced neurologic and body imaging applications of the 3.0T Signa MRI Scanner are:
-
Neurologic Imaging
--ASSET (parallel imaging technique)
--PROPELLER (reduces motion and magnetic susceptibility)
--Diffusion Tensor Imaging
--FiberTrak
--Brainwave for functional (fMRI)
--Spectroscopy (Probe single-voxel, 2D CSI and 3D CSI multi-voxel)
--COSMIC (fluid weighted CSF contrast technique)
--TRICKS (accelerated 3D dynamic vascular imaging) -
Body Imaging
--VIBRANT (volume imaged breast assessment)
--BREASE (single-voxel breast spectroscopy)
--LAVA (multi-phase liver imaging)
--Cartigram T2 Cartilage Mapping
--PROSE (single-voxel prostate spectroscopy
- Central Location
Conveniently located on the UC Health medical campus, we are centrally located in the heart of Clifton, just minutes away from many medical facilities. Parking is provided in the UC Physicians Medical Arts Building garage located at 222 Piedmont Avenue.
- Timely Appointments
Convenient appointments are available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but can also arrange times to meet your needs. Physicians can refer patients for clinical imaging on this 3T MRI by calling (513) 556-4674 to schedule an appointment.
Information about the research applications for the 3T MRI is available at UC Radiology MRI Scanner Research Facility.
