Dr. Lukin attended Medical School at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he graduated A.O.A. in 1965. He completed his radiology residency at UC in 1971 and a subsequent Fellowship in Neuroradiology was done at University Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati.
Upon completion of his Fellowship in 1972, Dr. Lukin assumed the role of Director of the section of Neuroradiology at University Hospital. Neuroradiology was in its infancy as a specialty and Dr. Lukin was the only full time Neuroradiologist in the region. During Dr. Lukin's tenure as director the section grew into one of the top Neuroradiology Sections in the country. The Section currently has eleven neuroradiologists between University Hospital and Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Lukin became Chair of the Radiology Department in January, 1993. Under his leadership the department continues to meet the changing challenges of a dynamic specialty and enjoys a reputation as one of the best academic radiology departments in the country.
Dr. Lukin has 125 regional and national scientific presentations and greater than 50 publications to his credit. He has been a visiting professor at 25 University Medical Schools throughout the United States.
Dr. Lukin served as President of the American Society of Neuroradiology in 1996. He is a Trustee of the American Board of Radiology and serves as Category Chair of the Neuroradiology Section.
