Candidates must apply individually to the University of Cincinnati PSTP through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) and subsequently complete the PSTP online application. Every year the program receives applications for a maximum of 6 available positions. The application review committee screens each completed application and well qualified applicants are invited for an interview. Applicants with a GPA greater than 3.5, combined MCAT scores of 33 of higher and a writing score of P or better are considered most competitive, however each application is given individual consideration. Students who have significant research experience with an honors thesis, postgraduate work with publications and strong supporting letters are the most desirable. Applications from women and minorities are recommended and receive a favorable review.

After review of the application, including letters of recommendation approximately 30 candidates are shortlisted for interview.
Accepted students are invited back to Cincinnati at our expense. During the second visit students may identify specific investigators in Cincinnati with whom they would like to meet. Candidates meet with the graduate program faculty mentors to define their initial laboratory rotation once they arrive early in summer.
