August 14, 2009—Aaron Marshall today presented the public defense of his PhD thesis entitled "The Biology of Mammary Gland Serotonin Synthesis and Transport". Aaron—who graduated BS in molecular biology at Millersville University, Millersville, PA in 2005—completed just over four years' study in the Systems Biology & Physiology Program and was mentored by Nelson Horseman, PhD, professor of molecular and cellular physiology.
Aaron, who participated in the Preparing Future Faculty Program while earning his PhD, moves to the laboratory of Susan Waltz, PhD, professor of cancer and cell
biology, where his postdoctoral fellowship will comprise studies of growth-factor receptors and tyrosine kinases in disease and cancer.
