John Cuppoletti Elected to UC Fellows of the Graduate School
02/28/2008
UC professor of molecular and cellular physiology, John Cuppoletti, PhD, has been elected to the Fellows of the Graduate School, an honor that recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement.
Current fellows (numbering around 100) are responsible for recommending new fellows from among UC's faculty, and appointment is by the board of trustees for life. Fellows are chosen because they have attained national and international professional stature, and have an extensive record of graduate mentoring and research publications, presentations and other accomplishments.
Among the responsibilities of fellows of the graduate school are to select invitees for the university's distinguished seminar series, and select recipients for several UC faculty awards of excellence, including the Rieveschl Awards (the Rieveschl Award for Distinguished Scientific Research, the Rieveschl Distinguished Young Scientist Award, and Rieveschl Creative and/or Scholarly Works Award) and the Sigma Xi Research Recognition Award.
