Horseman Honored with Akeson Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching

 Nelson Horseman, PhD today received the 2006 Richard Akeson Award in Excellence in Graduate Teaching. Graduate students of the UC College of Medicine voted Dr Horseman as this year's best teacher and mentor. The award, presented at the awards ceremony for today's Graduate Student Research Forum, came as a surprise to Dr Horseman but not to the departmental faculty and students who had been tipped off earlier and who swelled the audience. The award was presented by Bob Highsmith, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education.
