The University of Cincinnati Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
is a dynamic program, which provides its graduates with competence and ability
to pursue careers in either academic medicine or private practice. The particular
strengths and benefits of this program are its range and depth of academic conferences,
clinical and surgical training, and the graduated levels of resident responsibility.
This is accomplished using traditional and non-traditional apporached to graduate
medical education and using our many clinical and research strengths to train
excellent physicians. These include:
A variety of clinical practice settings including The University Hospital, a tertiary-care center, The Christ Hospital, the premier private hospital in the city, the St. Luke Hospitals, a pair of community-based hospitals in Northern Kentucky, the VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Dedicated full-time and volunteer faculty with a breadth of clinical interests and encompassing all sub-specialties of OB/GYN including Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Urogynecology.
Providing an excllent training in operative gynecology. Our residents average above the 60th percentile in residency experience in most gynecologic procedures.
Emphasis on developing a rational and critical thought process to patient care. Our department has an award-winning structured Evidence-based medicine curriculum in place for 9 years.
