Divisions
The Division of General
Obstetrics and Gynecology is composed of 6 full-time M.D. faculty.
The diverse background, training, and interests of each member of the
faculty set the framework for a broad range of patient care, education,
and research activities. It is the academic environment of the University
of Cincinnati College of Medicine that allows these interests to be
fully explored. The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology is
dedicated to excellence in the arenas of patient care, education, and
research.

The Division of Maternal
Fetal Medicine includes 6 full-time M.D. faculty and 6 full-time
Ph.D. faculty. The clinicians, including 4 fellows, focus on the full
range of common obstetric pathologies, in addition to women with both
esoteric and complicated medical and surgical disorders who happen to
be pregnant. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine also has 3 independent
basic science labs run by Ph.D.’s interested in the scientific
basis of common perinatal disorders. Only the third such national program,
the Department of Ob/Gyn in collaboration with the Cincinnati Children’s
Hospital has established a Fetal Therapeutics consortium devoted to
the fetal management and surgical treatment of congenital anomalies.

The Division of Reproductive
Endocrinology and Infertility consists of four full-time MD faculty,
1 full-time Ph.D. faculty, 3 REI fellows, and 1 postdoctoral scholar.
The Division is nationally recognized for its faculty and its excellence
in both research and clinical care. The responsibilities of the Division
include supervision of resident cases in the operating rooms, weekly
gyn resident pre-operative rounds, coordinating the Gyn Endocrine Clinic,
coordinating services at Planned Parenthood, carrying out NIH-funded
and pharmaceutical-sponsored research, operating the Women's Health
Initiative Cincinnati Center, Gyn coverage for the VA hospital, carrying
out an active clinical teaching practice that encompasses IVF and assisted
reproductive technologies, andrology, menopause, and reproductive endocrinology.

The Division of Gynecologic
Oncology serves as the major referral institution in the Tri-State
area for the treatment of women with pre-malignant gynecologic disorders,
malignancies, and complicated gynecologic cases. Specifically, patients
who have abnormal pap smears, cervical dysplasia, abnormal uterine bleeding,
hyperplasia, adnexal mass, ovarian tumor, cancer of the vulva, vagina,
cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovary, and gestational trophoblastic
disease, as well as other complicated gynecological problems requiring
extensive treatment or surgery. Patients are seen and examined, recommendations
are made for treatment and consultations.
