Clinical Skills Lab

The Center for Competency Development and Assessment (CCDA), with its state-of-the-art digital imaging equipment and its superb standardized patient program, focuses on the development and assessment of the essential skills of the medical interview and physical examination and diagnosis. All students must pass a required Clinical Competency Examination (CCX) prior to graduation. The CCDA is managed by an Assistant Dean, aided by a coordinator.

For further information, please contact Michael Sostok, MD.

SimMan Students resuscitate SimMan in the Center for Competency Development and Assessment (CCDA).
The Clinical Skills Laboratory houses state-of-the-art simulation devices and equipment, such as SimMan® (view SimMan orientation) [PowerPoint], and task trainers to support training in common medical skills and procedures. This type of training and simulation is geared primarily to the medical student curriculum; however, residents and other hospital-based services have used the CSL as a training site. Arrangements for tours, simulation information, task training preparation and scenario design can be scheduled by contacting the CSL at (513) 558-7724 or (513) 558-7725.
