Revised Letter Language for Secondary Appointments
Effective immediately (9/7/04), the following revised
language should be incorporated into initial letters of offer to individuals who
are designated Affiliated in their primary appointments, but, who hold
Secondary appointments in other College of Medicine departments:
“As an employee of (insert name of affiliating
institution), you are subject to (Insert name of affiliating
institution)’s policy on Inventions, Patents, and intellectual
Property. To the extent you engage in research activities using
University resources, you may be subject to the University’s policies
on copyrights and patents which may be found at
www.ipo.uc.edu, unless an agreement specifying otherwise is in
place between (affiliating institution) and the University”.
