Track Description
The Visiting Track is designated for distinguished faculty members from other institutions or countries who are appointed for the purposes of education, research or clinical practice in the College of Medicine. Appointments are made on a temporary basis for up to three years.
VIS II.F(1) - CRITERIA FOR INITIAL APPOINTMENT
The criteria for initial appointment in the Visiting Track correspond to requirements indicated for either the Tenure Track, Research Track, or Clinical Practice Track, depending on the individual's major area of effort. The rank in which the individual is appointed may reflect a previously held rank or qualification for a rank as defined in that Track.
VIS II.F(2,3) - REAPPOINTMENT AND PROMOTION
Visiting faculty are not eligible for reappointment or promotion. A request can be made for an extension of the appointment, subject to approval at the departmental, college and university levels.
