Daniel Drake Award: Nominate Someone
Nominate Someone
To be eligible, a nominee must be a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine or have received a Ph.D. degree from one of the programs in the college. Also eligible are those who have been members of the college faculty for five or more years or individuals who have completed a residency in a College of Medicine program sponsored by the university, University Hospital (formerly General Hospital) or Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Each nominator should indicate as specifically as possible in a nomination letter the activities for which the candidate was selected, amplifying the quantitative information on the nomination form. The nominator should also provide a copy of the nominee's curriculum vita along with the completed nomination form. In addition, the committee may require additional information from the nominator during the selection process.
In judging the nominees, importance will be given to recognition by prestigious professional societies and other national organizations of an individual’s unusual and productive talents and the impact of his/her contribution, not only on the strength and reputation of the College of Medicine but on basic and clinical health-related research generally in the United States.
These materials must be submitted by February 12, 2009 for consideration for the 2009 Drake Awards.
A Selection Committee will review all nominations. After review, the committee will recommend several candidates to the dean of the College of Medicine, who will make the final decision. Selected nominees will be notified in February 2009. The Drake Awards will be presented on May 24, 2009.
