Psychocutaneous Dermatology

Diya F. Mutasim, M.D.

This area of dermatology addresses the link between the mind and the skin and the occasional manifestations (conditions) that result from this interaction. This is a large and generally neglected area of dermatology and includes multiple conditions such as acne excoriée (acne with picking), primary picking of the skin (primary excoriations), some forms of pruritus (itching).
