Dr. Diya Mutasim has served as chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine since 1998. Prior to this he served as an associate professor in the department. Dr. Mutasim earned his B. S. and his M.D. from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed a dermatology residency at the American University of Beirut, an internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and a dermatology residency at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is board certified in dermatology, immunodermatology, and dermatopathology. His professional memberships include the Society for Investigative Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Association of Professors of Dermatology. He has authored over 125 publications in professional journals and has given over 150 national, international and regional presentations. His areas of interest include bullous diseases, connective tissue diseases and psychocutaneous diseases.
