Facilities



The Dermatology Clinical Research Center, located in the University Medical Arts Building, includes 3 dedicated examination rooms, physician and nursing offices, locked medication cabinets, surgical facilities, record storage space, photographic facilities, and a fully equipped crash cart. DCRC laboratory facilities include a microscope, slide preparation room, blood laboratory with centrifuge, and refrigerator. The Dermatopathology and Immunodermatology Laboratory provides routine histologic services as well as immunofluorescence studies and specialized immunology tests. The Dermatology Basic Sciences Center includes an electron microscopy laboratory. Full laboratory services, including surgical pathology, microbiology, mycology and hematology are readily available at adjacent University Hospital. Complete diagnostic services are easily accessible in University Medical Arts Building, as well as at University Hospital, including electrocardiography and full radiologic services. Specialist consultation is available in University Medical Arts Building through University of Cincinnati Physicians including ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gynecology, psychiatry and internal medicine services. The Department of Dermatology offers specialized diagnostic and treatment centers, which include a Phototherapy Unit, Dermatologic Surgery Center, Cosmetic Dermatology Center, Cutaneous Lymphoma Treatment Center, Inflammatory Skin Diseases Center, and Sports Dermatology Center.
