Dermatology Clinical Research Center Information for Sponsors
The Dermatology Clinical Research Center (DCRC) was formally established in 1985 to conduct all phases of clinical research relating to the skin. Commitment to excellence and quality is at the heart of all services provided by DCRC. DCRC is located in the University Medical Arts Building on the University of Cincinnati Medical Center campus. The University of Cincinnati Medical Center is part of the Health Alliance of Cincinnati, and is located in the heart of the metropolitan Cincinnati area.
DCRC is a division of the University of Cincinnati Department of Dermatology, which has outpatient and inpatient facilities at University Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Medical Center, and Veterans Administration Hospital. Outpatient services are also provided at the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic of the Cincinnati Health Department, and at the University of Cincinnati Student Health Center. All of these facilities are part of the University of Cincinnati complex.
Dermatologic care is also provided at satellite facilities in neighboring communities and counties. Currently over 50,000 patients are treated each year at these facilities. In addition to DCRC's extensive patient database, patients may be referred for appropriate clinical trials from these various practice settings, as well as from community physicians.
In addition to conducting clinical trials, we offer protocol development and review, as well as investigator-initiated studies, statistical analysis and manuscript preparation and submission. Laboratory research relating to dermatologic disorders is conducted in the Dermatology Basic Science Research Center.
We value our study participants, and maintain high participant compliance with a very low early discontinuation rate. We take great pride in our ability to conduct clinical trials with strict protocol adherence, while meeting enrollment goals and timelines.
