How to Apply

The UC Department of Dermatology offers three PGY2 residency positions each year through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). All applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Please note that paper applications received outside of ERAS will not be accepted.

An application will be considered complete when all required documents are uploaded into ERAS by this date.

ERAS application materials should include:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • USMLE scores
  • Transcripts
  • Dean's Letter
  • 3 recommendation letters (minimum of 3 letters required; additional letters accepted if applicant chooses)
  • ECFMG certificate for foreign medical graduates

 

If you are an international medical graduate, please contact your local Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) office for more information on ERAS.

The deadline for receipt of all materials is November 3, 2017. Applications that are not complete by this date will not be considered. Review of complete applications will begin early in October. All applicants are notified following review of the complete application.

Interviews are by invitation only. There are two Interview dates: Thursday Jan. 11, 2018, and Thursday Jan. 18, 2018. There is a pre-interview dinner with our current residents at an area restaurant the Wednesday evening prior to the interview. The dinner is not a required part of the interview.
