Present: Drs. Filak, Short, Weiss, Samaha, Fenoglio-Preiser, Hutton, Lehman, DeWitt; Ms. Hill and Mr. Chang

1. The meeting summary from February 5, 1999 was reviewed. The only notation was that Dr. DeWitt was present at the meeting.

2. The Curriculum Developmental Stages (Attachment 1) and Developmental Stage 1 Core Competencies (Attachment 2) will be distributed at the next Faculty Council meeting.

3. The charge to the Subcommittee on Evaluation and Assessment was reviewed. A revised change (Attachment 3) was accepted.

   Dr. Filak announced that Jim Short, Ph.D., will work with the Office of Medical Education to review the current course and curriculum evaluation system. Dr. Short will work closely with this subcommittee.

4. The charge to the Subcommittee on Structure and Content was reviewed. In response to input from faculty development directors and students this task force will refocus on the issue of content review. The revised charge (Attachment 4) was accepted.

5. A Structural Framework for Developmental Stage 1 was developed (Attachment 5). This will be presented to Faculty Council for approval.

6. The concept of a Curriculum Renewal Project website was discussed. A framework (Attachment 6) was accepted.

   The website will be implemented if access can be limited to College of Medicine students and faculty. If possible, a separate mailbox for email responses will be established.

7. Student membership on the Task Force was discussed in light of the fact that the committee work will be ongoing and Mr. Chang and Ms. Hill will be graduating. Attempts will be made to identify two current third-year students who can begin participation immediately and overlap for continuity with the current student members.
