Visitation Day

Each year the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program sponsors a Visitation Day to give prospective graduate students the opportunity to experience firsthand the research opportunities, facilities and environment at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. In one afternoon, you can:

• see the latest research technology available in the laboratories participating in the Program, including microinjection, fluorescence microscopy, electron microscopy, confocal microscopy, liquid chromatography, and much more



• meet members of the Department, including Faculty, postdoctoral fellows, current graduate students and potential colleagues



• see the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, the new home of the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy



• learn more about the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program.

The 2000 Visitation Day will be held on Friday, October 13, 2000, from 10 am to 4 pm. The following demonstrations are scheduled:

• Fluorescence microscopy using digital cameras (Spotcams)



• Confocal microscopy



• Fujix printer for digital images produced on the Spotcam or confocal microscope



• Microinjection of cultured cells



• Medical anatomy course lecture



• Electron microscopy



• Patch clamping video demonstration



• Fast Pressure Liquid Chromatography



• Lab meeting…you can sit in on a selection of lab meetings
