APPLICATION INFORMATION

To apply to our Program, your application must consist of the following items:

  1. A completed University of Cincinnati application form (there is a $30 application fee)

  2. A completed Program in Cell and Molecular Biology application form

  3. Three letters of recommendation Most useful are letters from those who know your academic accomplishments or potential, and your character.

  4. An official transcript of your undergraduate grades

  5. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores University of Cincinnati Institutional Code - 1833 Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy Departmental Code - 0201

  6. TOEFL and TWE scores, if your native language is not English (Program requires a TOEFL score of 550 or better). TSE is strongly recommended. University of Cincinnati Institutional Code - 1833 Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy Departmental Code - 32 If you indicate these codes, the test results will be sent directly to the Department of Cell Biology, which administers the Interdepartmental Program.   7. A brief summary of your interests, both academic and other; any research projects you may have worked on; and some idea of your goals or motivation. Tell us why you should be accepted!

We base our evaluation on a combination of criteria including the candidate's essay, letters of reference, graduate record examination scores and grade point average. We encourage all applicants to visit us, if at all possible. In most cases, funds will be available to help offset your travel costs.

The earlier your application is complete, the sooner we can act on it. Ideally, we should have all materials, including test scores, by early February. Outstanding applicants may be admitted early, but all applications will be evaluated by the end of January.
