University of Cincinnati
Cell & Molecular Biology Graduate Program

The interdepartmental graduate program in Cell and Molecular Biology offers a PhD degree emphasizing contemporary research in cellular, developmental, molecular and neural biology. The program, which is administered by the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy, involves more than 70 faculty members from 18 departments. The program in Cell and Molecular Biology is active, intellectually stimulating and congenial. Research interests of the faculty are varied, including cellular, developmental and molecular biology; cancer biology; reproduction and endocrinology; neurobiology and neurophysiology, including a center for chemical senses; electron microscopy; and histochemistry. Although this research covers a wide range of subjects, the use of cellular and molecular approaches provides a common theme. The program typically involves four to five years beyond the bachelor's degree, varying according to the background and special interests of each student.
