Get a Referral from Primary Care.

For Student Health Insurance (SHI) call University Health Services at 513 584-4457 for mental health referral. If Other Health Insurance (OHI) check if you need a referral.

Schedule Your First Appointment

Call the intake coordinator at 513 558-3191. Leave the following information on the voice machine:

• First and last name
• State that you are a medical student
• Phone number
• Type of insurance
• Type of service you are seeking (therapy, medication or testing)

You should be offered an initial appointment within two weeks of our phone call.  If you are not available on the days/times provided, the two week time frame may be extended.

Co-Pays

SHI $12 for therapy or medication management and $45 for each hour of LD/ADHD testing.

OHI is charged according to terms of insurance up to $60 per session.  Co-pay for LD/ADHD testing is $45 for each hour of testing

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Available to all students of the University of Cincinnati.  Offers individual therapy, medication management, LD/ADHD testing, group therapy, outreach and emergent care visits.

Getting Started

• Call 513 556-0648 to schedule an appointment
• First 4 sessions per year are free
• SHI co-pay is $7/therapy, $12/med management, $20-60 LD/ADHD testing
• OHI co-pay is according to policy but no greater than $35/therapy, $60/med management, $100-$300 for LD/ADHD
• Financial hardship may qualify for fee waiver

Let's Talk Program - MSB 6552

Counselor on site Thursday each week from 12-2 pm for confidential drop-in consultations with mental health specialist.  This offers a safe space to get information, recommendations and referrals.

Peer Support

The Student Wellness Committee is available to listen, provide peer support, make recommendations/referrals, or offer advice on a range of common student challenges. They can be reached 24 hours a day via call or text at 513-301-0336 or SWC.uccom@gmail.com.
