SSE@UC—Program Costs

 

The Summer Surgery Experience does require fees to participate. There are also housing fees.

 

The program costs $510. This includes all activities, all supplies, all local transportation costs, and some meals.

 

Housing rates for 2010 will be determined 90 days prior to the first day of the program. The 2009 rate was $410. This includes triple occupancy at a hotel within walking distance of the medical center.

Are any scholarships or fee assistance programs available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer scholarships or fee assistance at this time.

 

Is there a deposit required?

A non-refundable $150 deposit is required by April 20 to hold your seat in the program.

 

When is tuition due?

The remainder of the tuition (total minus $150 deposit) is due on May 20th.

 

Can I attend, but live on my own to save money?

If you are from Cincinnati and would like to commute daily, you are

not required to live with the group.  

However, surgical observation days typically start VERY EARLY (before 7AM) and you would still be required to meet the group to participate.

 

Students who have participated in this program in the past strongly recommended taking advantage of the group housing option.
