Service
The element of service is essential to any department of public health sciences, not only within its own academic health center and university, but also in local communities, state governments, and beyond. Therefore faculty of the UC Department of Public Health Sciences serve not only on numerous college and university leadership committees, but also in a variety of local, regional, and national organizations.

Our community partnerships seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care, and to safeguard and improve the public's health. In this regard, we work closely not only with regional health departments, but also with such organizations as the Health Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati, the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, and the Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati.

At the state and national levels, our faculty participate as leaders of a variety of public-health-related professional societies and advocacy groups, and we also serve as a resource to state and federal agencies for activities that span the broad spectrum of public health.
