Research The Department of Public Health Sciences seeks to improve the evidence base of public health through its dynamic and diverse research portfolio. This portfolio is comprised of community-based public health projects as well as the externally funded projects of the faculty. The mix of topics is broad, reflecting the inherent nature of public health. Current projects include studies of:
Funding sources for such research can range from the National Institutes of Health to various foundations and community organizations. In that our mission includes the health of both communities and individuals, the faculty of Public Health Sciences also serves as a University-wide resource for the clinical research enterprise. Accordingly, faculty members also serve as co-investigators on projects addressing a broad array of clinically-oriented issues.
