The Inpatient Evaluation Center (IPEC)
|
The United States Veterans Health Administration (VA) supports the Inpatient Evaluation Center (IPEC). The IPEC is a national program to improve patient outcomes from acute care hospitalization through feedback of outcomes and processes to providers and managers. The Center has developed a Web based data collection and reporting application for the IPEC. This application is used by the 200+ patient care units throughout the VA system to collect metrics on hospital infections, compliance with infection prevention practices, drug resistant organisms, and rapid response systems. Example screen snapshots follow.
