Dr. Wilson earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. After working for three years in the petrochemical industry, he returned to Ohio State and completed his MD degree in 1998. Dr. Wilson then completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Following his clinical training, Dr. Wilson completed a combined fellowship in Outcomes Research and Children's Environmental Health. As part of this training, Dr. Wilson earned a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Currently, Dr. Wilson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine-Pediatrics in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in the UC College of Medicine.
Dr. Wilson's research interest focuses on racial differences in exposure to environmental toxicants. Recently, his research efforts have concentrated on racial differences in cotinine levels among children exposed to environmental tobacco smoke. He was also awarded a Dean's Scholar Award for Clinical Research to study racial differences in pre-cancerous compounds known as DNA adducts.
