Daniel P. Schauer, M.D., M.Sc.

Dr. Schauer earned his BS in premedicine and mathematics from the University of Dayton, and an MD from the Univeristy of Cincinnati. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital and joined the Institute for the Study of Health as an outcomes research fellow. As part of this fellowship, Dr. Schauer completed his M.Sc. in epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Heatlh. Since completing his fellowship, Dr. Schauer has continued his research at the Institute for the Study of Health as a faculty member in the Center for Clinical Effectiveness and the Division of General Internal Medicine. In addition to his research, Dr. Schauer serves as an attending physician at the University Hospital.

Dr. Schauer's research interests include the development and testing of patient-specific decision support tools for a wide array of medical conditions including atrial fibrillation, severe sepsis, and morbid obesity.
