Stephen J. Page, Ph.D., is both an Assistant Professor and the Director of Research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is also a member of the Stroke Team and Institute for the Study of Health, also at the College of Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Page is the principal investigator of several grants, and is the primary author of articles appearing in such peer reviewed journals as: The Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, The American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation, The Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, Clinical Rehabilitation, The Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development, The Occupational Therapy Journal of Research, Brain Injury, Physical Activity Quarterly, and The Sport Psychologist. Dr. Page also served as Lead Editor for the February, 2001, issue of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, Editor of the Winter, 2002, issue of Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation and, most recently, co-conceived and wrote a clinical trials conference proposal funded by the National Institutes of Health. Page is a member of the Program and Membership Committees for the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and is a reviewer for seven journals. In Cincinnati, Dr. Page performs research concerning restoration of upper limb function following stroke, outcomes research, and motor learning trials in stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as research concerning the psychosocial aspects of participation in exercise and rehabilitation among individuals with disabilities.
Dr. Page graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio in 1993, completed a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Ball State University in 1995, and graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Motor Learning and Control from The University of Tennessee in 1998. At both Ball State and Tennessee, Page was recognized as Outstanding Graduate Student. In 2002, Page also received the Early Career Award from the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
